Prescription Glasses

March 28th, 2009

Wearing prescription glasses is not all that it’s cracked up to be.  Given the choice, I think anybody that has had the unfortunate opportunity to have experienced glasses at one time or another will agree that they would rather go without.  It is very inconvenient and limiting—not to mention expensive to have a pair made!!!

It is a misconception that wearing glasses does more good than harm.  In the same light, I would be crazy to say that it does not help—especially for people that may have vision problems that really cannot do without prescription lenses.  What I am saying though is it may not necessarily be a permanent condition.

Glasses are needed for some things but a complete nuisance for others.  My say to this—why not try to do without glasses when possible.  Let your eyes rest from the inevitable strain and stress experienced by eyes too when wearing glasses.

Get yourself some information on natural vision improvement techniques that may help you.  Take the time to rest your eyes by looking at a distance to the beautiful trees. Or, well, plainly just be conscious about blinking and closing your eyes for a few seconds every few hours!  Simple techniques can help you even if you are wearing glasses already.

Vision health has been something that people rarely think about—most are unaware of the many techniques and exercises that can help with improving vision or preventing vision deterioration.  A shame really since they are quite easy to do and fit into your daily schedule.

Some say that wearing glasses gives a sense of being smart or scholarly.  I say not!  It is difficult to really be expressive and to live life to the fullest with glasses.  Neither does it convey increased intelligence and IQ.  Try a few moments without the glasses and start the natural vision improvement exercises.  I think they will open up a whole new world of possibilities!

Relax Your Eyes through Tried and Tested Means

March 24th, 2009

Natural vision improvement depends greatly in the care and the pampering you give your eyes.  Recognizing the importance of our eyes and vision to your life and in your daily living is the core of natural vision improvement; while the steps and methods you do help you attain that goal of healthy eyes and good vision.

The eyes need enough rest and relaxation for it to be able to function optimally.  Remember this: giving your eyes a few moments each day to rest from the constant stresses that it undergoes will matter.
One of the effective relaxation techniques is called ‘palming’.  With the gentlest pressure, cup your eyes with the palms of your hands.  Close your eyes and allow your eyes to relax in the darkness.  Do this a few times each day, for a minute or two each time.

Another technique to relaxing the eyes is by giving it a gentle massage a few times each day.  Cover your eyes and gently dab your fingers around your eye sockets, gently massaging the muscles of the eyes.  After this, gently massage and stroke the ridge of the brows from the innermost edge going out.  This will give your eyes and the muscles surrounding the eyes a few moments of massage and relaxation.

Try also to include this exercise each day to lessen the rigidity of the muscles of the eyes.

Look to the distance and try to swing your body from side to side without removing your focus on the object you choose to at a distance.  Do not forget to breathe normally and blink throughout this exercise.  Do about 100 swings daily to help your eyes relax.

Your eyes need care and attention to function well.  It does not take much time, or even much effort to do something to make a difference in the health of your vision.  The relaxation you give to your eyes will help greatly in naturally improving vision.

These simple techniques do make a difference.

Simple Massages - Relieve Stress and Healthy Eye-Sight

March 19th, 2009

It is a little known fact that some simple massages can help in improving the vision health of people.  These massages do not take very long and can be incorporated into the daily routine of many people without having to stress too much about them.

Massage in itself has many health benefits.  It can aid in optimizing circulation of blood in the body and provide relaxing relief for tired and stressed out muscles.  Imagine the benefits that can be gained for vision health if the eyes are given attention for a few minutes each day.
There are three very effective massages to help with vision and eye care.  Each targets a specific muscle or group of muscles.

  • Eyebrow Ridge massage

To do this, gently stroke the muscles of the eyebrow ridge from the bridge of the nose to the end of the eyebrows.  Close your eyes and breathe as you do this to allow the eyes to really relax.  Put enough pressure on the strokes to gently stretch the surrounding skin and muscle underneath.

  • Eye massage

With your eyes still closed, focus a gentle stroking motion to the area around the eyes where the orbits or sockets of the eyes are.  Stroke gently and with circular stokes.  Don’t forget to breathe and be gentle.

  • Temple massage

Rub the temples with gentle circular motions to relax the muscles located there.  This massage relieves tension and relieves stress to the eye area.

Doing these massages a few minutes, a couple of times daily can help in improving or maintaining good eye and vision care.  They help the eyes relax and recuperate form the daily tasks that are done throughout the day.  They also help in maintaining good blood circulation and proper functioning of the eyes.

Taking the time to do these massages is important.  Making a conscious effort to improve vision and eye health will really provide many benefits and maybe even improve vision naturally.
